Reporting a Lost or Stolen Device
From the main navigation menu, click on the Returns, Repairs & Replacements section and choose the option to Report a Lost/Stolen/Recovered Device.
Use the search bar to identify the device that has been lost or stolen.
Click on the search result to proceed to the next step.
If you just need to report the device as lost, choose the No Replacement Needed option, otherwise choose the Process Replacement option and follow the steps below.
At this point you may be prompted with additional questions, depending on how your account has been setup. These may include questions to help configure the replacement device, specify the address to send the replacement and the email addresses for notifications.
Click on the Submit button to continue.
The replacement request will be processed and a confirmation message will be displayed.
You will additionally receive an email confirmation with a button to track the replacement once it ships.
Reporting a Recovered Device
From the main navigation menu, choose the option to Report a Lost/Stolen/Recovered Device.
Use the search bar to identify the device that has been recovered.
Select the device from the search results to proceed to the next step.
Click on the Process Recovery button.
At this point, if there is an outstanding replacement request for this device, and it hasn’t yet shipped, you will be allowed to cancel the outstanding request. This could occur if the device was found shortly after it was reported lost.
If you no longer need the replacement, choose Yes to this question.
Even though the lost device has now been found, it may be in an unusable state, especially if the device was remotely wiped via an MDM tool. If this is the case, choose Yes to the next question.
Choosing Yes will automatically create an RMA for the device to be returned to Stratix.
Lost and Stolen Reports
There are two new reports in itrac360 dedicated to Lost and Stolen devices.
Under Assets & Devices, there is a report called Lost/Stolen Assets.
This report will filter all your devices by those with a Lost status.
Under the Returns, Repairs & Replacements menu, there is a report called Lost/Stolen Replacement History.
This report provides a complete history of all replacement requests, and allows you to track individual request progress on the details page for any request.
Device Assignment
The device assignment feature has been streamlined to make it easier to assign, unassign or swap devices between people. Devices assigned to employees are tracked over time, and you can see the assignment history for any employee by using the search bar and entering their name or employee number. Any devices listed with a green checkmark next to them are currently assigned to that employee.
Stratix can automatically assign devices to employees if this information is provided at time of shipment for a new device, however it can be useful to do this within itrac360 in the case of new employees receiving their device at the end of training at a local location.
If a device is returned to Stratix on an RMA, the device is also automatically unassigned from the employee.
To get started with Device Assignment, From the Assets & Devices menu, choose the Device Assignment option.
You will be presented with three options, to Assign a device, to Exchange devices, and to unassign a device. Exchanging devices can be useful if you maintain a local Spare Pool of devices and need to exchange a broken device of an employee for a working device, to enable them to continue working immediately.
Example: Let’s assign a device to an employee.
Click on the Assign Device option.
Type in the name or employee number of the person you wish to assign to and click on their name in the search results.
You will see a list of currently assigned devices to this employee.
Now type in the serial number or asset tag of the device you wish to assign.
Confirm the assignment by clicking on the Assign button.
You will see a confirmation and can click on the button to start another assignment.
Notes:
When assigning a device, if the device is currently assigned to another employee, you will see a Re-Assign button instead of Assign. You will also need to confirm you are re-assigning the device from the original employee to the new employee.
The Re-Assign and Un-Assign options behave in a similar way to the Assign functionality.
