Celebrating Women in Technology

Final Nancy

Nancy Gould

Customer Success Manager

In honor of Women’s History Month, we would like to acknowledge a few of the amazing women at Stratix across various departments and all that they do. Without these women, our company just would not be the same. We took some time to speak with them to understand how they got started in their field and how their past experiences molded them into strong females in the industry.

Our next spotlight is, Nancy Gould. Nancy is a Customer Success Manager who has been with Stratix for 12 years. She takes Stratix culture of “Customer Obsession” to the next level by being collaborative and maintaining a high level of professionalism with her clients.

What is your role at Stratix and how long have you been here?

I am a Customer Success Manager, going on my 12th year.

What got you interested in your field and what do you love about your job?

Customer support was a different role than I have had in the past, but what got me interested in it was being part of a team that would provide the best solutions and world class service to our customers.  This role also allowed me to learn in depth details around other industries that I had never worked in, such as Aviation.

What I love about my job is getting to play an active role in our customers’ business, helping them save money, time, and ensuring their success in meeting expected business outcomes. Many of them have become very close friends of mine during the time I supported them, and those friendships have endured even when I transitioned to support other accounts.

What do you like about working at Stratix?

The close connections I have made over my time at Stratix  are just heart warming. Just today, one of our customers  sent me a picture with a Stratix shirt on. In response, I sent him a picture with my Stratix shirt on as well. I just think that is the coolest to be aligned with your customer/friend.

Which of the Stratix Core Values do you identify with the most and why?

The core value that I most identify with is positive and optimistic. I absolutely love to solve issues to the best of my ability with a  positive attitude.

What did you want to be when you grew up and why?

I wanted to be a marine biologist! I grew up in South Florida and the ocean has always interest me, and it still does. I go the beach any chance I get. You never know, I might end up being one before I leave this earth.

Did you feel that any career options were closed off to you because you were a woman?

Early in my career, the Logistics/Supply chain industry was a business I really enjoyed and excelled at. While in this industry, I didn’t take no for an answer, when I was told “this is not a position for a female”, I persevered with enthusiasm. It was because of my hard work, that I was the first female and the youngest employee to be promoted to Distribution Management with my first technology company. I had the pleasure of spending over 16 years in this field, managing multiple facilities across the United States.

Who was your role model growing up and what did you admire about them?

My mother was my role model and when I look back at what I admired the most about her, it’s that she challenged me to be my best self and very independent. There were no limits in life other than the ones I put on myself. Today, I still feel that way. There is absolutely nothing I can’t accomplish when I put my mind to it. I am a very strong independent woman.

What words of wisdom did your aunts/grandmother, or mother give you?

My mother would tell me all the time that we might not have all the latest or best items, but we will ALWAYS be smart, have common sense and great manners. This will take you further in life than money will.

Advice to women starting their career

Never accept no for an answer if you feel passionate about a role or situation. It’s up to you to own your success as no one is going to give it you.
